Environmental Commitment

How Alpine Bank reduces its environmental footprint — and how we help our customers and communities do the same.

Practical steps, not slogans.

We're a community bank, not an environmental organization — but we believe any business can reduce its footprint if it's willing to make real changes. Here's what we've committed to and what we've actually done.

01 Our Operations

Reducing what we use

We've cut paper consumption across every branch by over 60% since 2019 — through digital statements, electronic signatures, and paperless account opening. Every branch uses LED lighting, energy-efficient HVAC systems, and motion-sensor controls.

Where we can, we've installed solar at branch locations and switched to renewable energy contracts. We track our energy use annually and publish our progress in our community report.

02 Our Lending

Financing what matters

We offer preferred rates on loans for energy-efficient home improvements, solar installations, and hybrid or electric vehicles. We also work with local businesses on financing for energy upgrades and sustainability projects.

Our commercial lending team considers environmental impact as part of every major loan decision — not as a checkbox, but as a real factor in how we evaluate risk and community benefit.

03 Our Community

Supporting local environmental work

We sponsor and volunteer with local environmental organizations — river cleanups, trail maintenance, community gardens, and conservation efforts in the regions we serve. Alpine Bank employees regularly participate in community cleanup days.

We also fund scholarships and educational programs focused on environmental science and sustainability for local students.

04 Our Goals

What we're working toward

By 2030, we aim to reduce our operational carbon footprint by 50% from 2019 levels, achieve carbon-neutral operations at all branch locations, and expand our green lending programs to support at least $50 million in environmentally beneficial projects.

These are real targets, not marketing language. We review progress quarterly and publish updates annually. If we miss a milestone, we'll say so and explain why.
